Open heart surgery is no small life event. It rocks your world: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially.

I’m not going to lie to you – it’s tough. It takes strength and courage. Facing open heart surgery made me take a deeper look at my own life, my behaviors and attitudes, and ask myself some serious questions.

Going through open heart surgery has been one of the most intense challenges of my life.

I got through the days leading up to surgery, surgery itself, and my recovery with the amazing support of loved ones and outstanding professionals. You can too.

I’m so thankful for everyone who helped me along the way. And, actually, I am proud of myself for reaching deep inside and finding a resilience I did not know I possessed.

My goal with this website, with its articles and blog posts, is to help you navigate through an open heart event.  I’ll share my experiences and shed some light on some medical procedures you will encounter.

This blog is a work in progress. If you find me before I have a lot of helpful content on the site – I apologize. I’m new to creating a website and blog. I welcome your comments.

If there is a topic that you are curious about – please let me know and I’ll do my best to respond and write to your concerns. Thanks for your patience.
